In an effort to protect its customers and team members, American Airlines updated their service animal and emotional support animal policies on Friday. These policies will be taking effect on April 1, 2019.
Such changes have been made due to the increasing number of emotional support animals and incidents involving these animals such as biting, urination, and defecation.
Here are the new policies:
American Airlines decided to strengthen its policies after their survey which got responses from 10,400 employees and 18,000 customers.
