Animal Therapy Program Continues to Serve But This Time It’s Contactless

The Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare's Animal Therapy Program has brought joy to those inside schools, rehab centers, hospitals, and nursing homes for 15 years. But because of the pandemic, providing comfort and happiness in-person to those in need during these troubling times has been a challenge.

However, instead of canceling all visitation activities and shutting down operations, the therapy program has adapted a contactless visit through virtual space and window-visits. The Program Director, Stephanie Perkins said, "I think seeing the animals on the screen and being able to talk to them and keep up with them on screen has helped everyone." Until today, the program is still able to do visits daily.
