Arkansas Animal Shelter Adoptions Increase Amidst Pandemic

Inside the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, there are no cats left as all the other animals have already been adopted. However, there are still three dogs left without a home compared to the 12 to 25 animals the shelter houses before the pandemic.

Superintendent Justine Lentz has stated, “Hopefully we’re kind of reaching the peak of things here, of course we don’t know, no one does, but we just want to make sure we’re prepared in case things do get worse to be able to help animals who truly are in a life threatening situation. But our community support has just been amazing”. As of now, all adoption fees by the shelter are being waived.
