Last Saturday, on March 13, 2021, The Madera County Animal Shelter held a drive-thru microchipping for the purpose of helping animals get home faster to their owners and stay out of shelters. With March being the Pet Return to Home month, the animal shelter is currently participating in the nationwide challenge where they could win a $150,000 grant prize.
More microchipping events are yet to come. Chips for Lunch will be open every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of March from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Microchip Madness will open every Saturday and Sunday starting at noon for the month of March as well.
