Canine Companions Connects Assistance Dogs With Veterans

According to the Pew Research Center, people who have served in the army may have a hard time transitioning back to civilian life. This is where Canine Companions LTD comes in.

A non-profit organization and founded by Walter James Hart, Jr., Canine Companions have a goal which is to train canines to be able to support trauma victims and anyone with disabilities - this definitely includes veterans who may be struggling with mental health and physical problems. If you want to find them, they operate on the 8th floor of Dream Center Foundation in Silver Lake.

The veterans program director Anthony Worley says that canines can be trained to perform certain actions for veterans such as opening doors. No matter the case, diagnosed or undiagnosed, they can help out.
