It was just an ordinary Saturday at Northwest Las Vegas when cars started honking and neighbors waved. The cause of the commotion is just the celebration for the arrival of Casper, a Golden Retriever puppy, Lauren Cleveland’s new best friend.
Lauren was born with a type of neurofibromatosis - a brain tumor on her optic nerve. The condition has required her to undergo chemotherapy last year. As her father, Jason Cleveland said. He also stated that the tumor is feared to cause the 18-year-old to lose her eyesight eventually and Casper might be trained to be Lauren’s service dog in the future.
“I’m really thankful that we were able to bring him here today, and he’s going to have a nice loving home, hopefully forever,” said Lauren while standing outside her home and holding Casper.
