K-9 Officer Nubbin is just 3 years old. Yet, he holds some of the most important work a dog could have. He joined Fullerton’s Police Department last November 2019 according to Kristy Wells, the Community Liaison Officer and Facility Dog Handler.
Bred by the owners of Canine Companions for Independence and raised for 22 months in a volunteer raiser program, Nubbin entered “doggy college” to train for nine months. While training, he was taught to tug, turn lights on and off, and strengthen other basic commands.
Kristy Wells said, “Once she becomes of retirement age, I get first dibs, if you want to call it, to keep her.”
