New Program: Farm Animals for Psychotherapy

There’s a new program started by the 35-acre farm on Old Fall River Road in Dartmouth. This is an equine therapy program that’s meant to help people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and addiction.

Andrew Lapin, the program’s lead clinical director, knows that horses make great equalizers. Licensed mental health counselor Deb Madera assists Lapin. Some of the horses in the program were a big brown horse named Ruby and a white horse named Freckles. Aside from the horses, there were also other animals — two ponies and an alpaca.
