Organization Provides Service Dogs to Three US Veterans

Michael Kidd, Harry Stolberg, and Phil Davanzo, US veterans who are suffering from PTSD, were able to seek comfort in pet therapy, thanks to an organization that trains shelter dogs to become service dogs named Paws of War. The organization has been founded in 2014 and so far they have graduated 102 service dogs.

Stolberg shares that his 3-year old service dog, Rocky, wakes him up from his nightmares. Rocky also helps Stolberg navigate large crowds that could trigger PTSD symptoms.

Kidd, who also suffers from severe PTSD, was able to reduce his intake of medication because of his service dog Millie. He says that Millie places her paws on his shoulder and chest as if she's saying that she's here for him.
