Seven Heroes Honored

Last February 24, The American Humane’s annual Palm Beach luncheon honored seven canines (Alice, Sgt.Yeager, Dax, Jeanie, Lady, Piglet, and Gus.) with the Hero Dog Awards. Each has its own heroic story to tell:

Alice helped a shooting victim by alerting him to oncoming seizures and assisting him with his balance issues.

Sgt. Yeager was an army dog that led more than 100 patrols in Iraq and Afghanistan with Marines and located dozens of explosive devices.

Dax apprehended more than 70 suspects, found dozens of missing children and adults, and participated in 100 narcotic searches yielding a lot of invaluable evidence.

More than 300 people attended the luncheon in which the proceeds go to the American Humane.
