The Mental Benefit of Man-Animal Companionship

Loneliness and social isolation can cause poor mental health issues and are affecting the American public on an alarming scale. For Mars Petcare and the Human-Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), they believe that this problem can be solved by pet ownership.

To prove this claim right, the Consortium on Social Isolation in Companion Animals reported that a majority of pet owners say their pet makes them feel less lonely and helps them connect with other people.

In their opinion regarding pet ownership being an intervention and cure for loneliness and social isolation, a large majority believes that interaction with companion animals can help combat loneliness and agrees that interacting with animals can alleviate social isolation.
