Tips to Prevent Dog Attacks on Mailmen

Leash the dog in the yard - properly leash your dog in the backyard to prevent interrupting a mail carrier’s job. A mailman will let you pick your mail up at the local post office if he sees that the area or the surrounding neighborhood is unsafe due to an unrestrained dog. You should also tell your neighbors to do the same.

Install electronic fencing - This is very important to homes who do not have a physical fence around their home. A lack of physical fence will make the mail carrier assume that the property is animal-free which will put one at risk of a leg bite. The risk increases when they’re delivering large packages that cannot be held by small mailboxes.
