Two Friends Work Together To Help Veterans

Two women who were animal lovers since they were little found themselves working hand in hand to help many veterans. These women are Dr. Rhonda Phillips Black and Lori Stevens. Black is the founder of the Country Friends Veterinary Clinic which used to be her home. Stevens, on the other hand, founded Patriot Paws. Let’s hear their stories:

Dr. Rhonda Phillips Black

Black grew up with farm animals and mentioned that she always wanted to become a vet for horses. She began practicing privately after 3 years out of school. She ran her clinic Country Friends Veterinary Clinic for 30 years. Now, she wants to work with Patriot Paws and helps with the medical needs of the non-profit.

Lori Stevens

Lori Stevens was the type of kid who brought strays at home. She started her career with dogs by working as a mobility service dog trainer. Her dad was a veteran and passed away. Her service dog organization Patriot Paws ensures that a service dog will really make a difference in a veteran’s life. Stevens once said, “There is nothing like when you get that phone call or a text from a veteran who says their dog totally changed their life.”
