Who will be the 2019 American Hero Dog?

Seven dogs received honours as finalists for the prestigious award and now America can cast votes for the canine most deserving of the award. After 360 nominees and 900,000 votes, seven astounding dogs were chosen: Outstanding K9 “Dax” from Libertyville, IL, guide dog “Leader Dog Lady” from Hamilton, MI, and the three-legged hero therapy dog “Jeanie” from Lake Charles, LA.

Ray of hope “Gus” from Houston, TX also won an award along with “Sgt. Yeager” from Cary, NC who combat terrorism, veteran search and rescue hero “Piglet” from Lancaster, CA, and family guardian “Alice” from Nicholasville, KY.

The dog finalists are travelling to Los Angeles for the Hero Dog Awards gala to be held on October 5 at The Beverly Hilton and broadcasted on Hallmark Channel on October 23, 8 pm ET/7pm CT. America’s voters have until September 9, 12 pm Pacific Time to cast their votes at http://www.herodogawards.org.
